A tile that allows you to access your Outlook email from a LiveTiles page.
The Email Tile
You can click on the portrait of a contact in the top right corner of the panel to get more information about that person, including email, phone number, your recent email exchanges and upcoming meetings with that individual. In addition, you will be able to send an email, start a Skype for Business chat or set up another meeting with the person you are viewing through this panel.
Note: The send an email button will open up your email client to send the email. if you have something preventing this from happening or your email client is not open, this will not work. In addition, this tile currently will not work if two factor authentication is enabled in your SharePoint tenant.
How To Use
When you first log onto a LiveTiles Design page, you will be prompted to link the tiles to your account. When you click on the prompt a modal window appears, which will load up and prompt you to register the app. Once you have registered the app, you will be able to view your emails, as well as click on them to open up a side panel that will expand the email.
The Email Panel
Note: When signing into this tile for the first time, you may be prompted to allow for access for LiveTiles production. This will ask you for various permissions. Due to how the API for authentication works, in that the same API is used for Email, Meetings and Power BI, it will need to be approved. Once this has been approved, you will have granted access across all browsers.
Width: Allows you to set the width of the tile.
Height: Allows you to set the height of the tile.
Header Colour: Allows you to set the header colour on the tile.
Body Colour: Allows you to set the body colour of the tile.
Show Title: Allows you to choose to show a title for the tile.
Title Text: Allows you to set the title text. This is only visible if Show Title has been checked.
Live Update: If checked allows the tile to update when you get an email.
Date Format: Allows you to choose whether the tile is in MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY format.
Use 24-hour time: Allows you to choose whether to show the tile in 12 hour or 24 hour time format.
Text – Changes the title of the tile using a WYSIWYG editor.
Override Page Font - This allows you to override the font family that has been selected if the checkbox is checked.
Font Family - Changes the font family of the text items. This is only available if Override Page Font has been selected.
Font Size – Changes the size (in pixels) of the text within the Text field.
Font Color – Changes the color of the text within the Text field. Selectable via the color picker.
Font Style – Changes the style of the text within the Text field. Either Italic and/or Underlined.
Font Weight – Changes the weight of the text within the Text field. Selectable via dropdown list.
Layer – Changes the depth of the tiles within the page. Selectable via dropdown: Foreground, Background or Custom.
Reorder Within Layer - Changes the depth of the tiles within the layer. Selectable via dropdown: ‘No Change’, ‘Bring to Front’ or ‘Send to Back’.
Tile Visibility – Changes which groups can or cannot view the tile. Selectable via dropdown: Everyone, ‘Only for’ or ‘For everyone except’. When ‘Only for’ or ‘For everyone except’ is selected, a dropdown menu will appear where you can assign groups to the category that was selected.
Lock Tile for Non-owners – Toggles whether a tile can be only modified by an owner.
Custom CSS Classes: This section allows you to add multiple Custom CSS classes to the product, allowing you to be able to add custom CSS classes to the tile.
