Description

Announcement List Pages are our take on Announcement Lists in SharePoint. These lists allow you to be able to access full announcements without being taken out of the LiveTiles Design experience.

NOTE: In order for user to be able to view the list page, users will need at the minimum read permissions for LiveTiles Design/Mosaic subsite.

Setting up an Announcement List page

In order to set up an Announcement list page, you will need to add the following columns to an Announcement list for it to work:

Image: This will allow the list to store images. This will need to be set up as a "Hyperlink or Picture" type column.

Pinned: (Optional) This will allow you to mark announcements as pinned. This will need to be set up as a "Yes/No (check box)" type of column.

Critical: (Optional) This will allow you to mark announcements as critical. This will need to be set up as a "Yes/No (check box)" type of column.

Accessing Announcement List Pages

In order to access the Announcement List Pages, you will need to enable them for the announcement list that you want to use. In order to do this, you will need to go to the settings in either the news slider or the card slider tiles.

The Card Slider settings page

From the settings here, you will have the the ability to turn on the Announcement List page by checking the use LiveTiles View checkbox. Once this is checked, you will also have the ability to change some of the colours of the page in order to bring branding styles to your LiveTiles Announcement List Page.

Once this has all been set up, for you to open up Announcement List Pages, all you need to do is click on the heading of the Announcement List which will open up the Announcement List Page in whatever you set your target as (modal, new window, Slider, in place).

Accessing from a non news tile.

If you would like to access the list pages using a non-news tile (ie. a rectangle tile or a morphing tile), you can open the list by using a URL which points to the announcement list page in the following format:

{siteUrl}/LiveTilesDesign/DisplayPages/ListPage.aspx?listTitle={ListTitle}&webUrl={siteUrlOfWebContainingList}

Additional customization can be achieved by adding query parameters to your URL.

The following table shows you the special query parameters supported.

Name

Value Example

Required?

Comments

listTitle

Company news

Yes

This title may not the same as the display name e.g “Company News” vs “all company news”

webUrl

/sites/mysite/mysubsite

Yes

URL of web where list lives

itemID  3  No Opens up the page in an individual item instead of a full list

ActiveColor

AccentBGColor

As an example, a list at the top level of your sites called “Company News” with some custom color settings would use the following URL:

 {your site}/LiveTilesDesign/DisplayPages/ListPage.aspx?listTitle=Company%20News&webUrl=/&accentColor=white&accentBgColor=rgb(103,%2020,%20138)&

Using the announcement list

In order to use the announcement list, you can access it by clicking on an announcement. This will take you to the list page of that particular announcement. On this list page, you will be able to view the announcement. In addition, you will be able to see all the attachments associated with that announcement. You will be able to also share, edit and delete the attachment.

If you would like to see the whole list page, you will be able to go to the whole list by clicking on the name of the list at the top of the page, this will then load up the announcement list page. From here, you will be able to view each of the announcements, as well as share, edit and delete the attachment. In addition, you will be able to create a new announcement from the top of the page in the top right corner.

In order to allow you to be able to identify which items are pinned and/or critical, we have added a colour bar and icon to these items. Pinned items will have a red exclamation icon and a red stripe down the side of the item, while pinned items will have a pinned icon and a coloured line down the side of the item.

Creating/Editing an announcement
