Document List Pages are our take on SharePoint Document list pages. In order to keep you in the LiveTiles Experience, we have created a way of viewing as well as editing the items in a document list by a new style of page.
The document list page
NOTE: In order for user to be able to view the list page, users will need at the minimum read permissions for LiveTiles Design/Mosaic subsite.
Accessing the Document List Page
In order to access the Document List Pages, you will need to enable the document list that you want to use. In order to do this, you will need to go to the settings from the Document Tile.
The Document Tile Settings pane
From the settings here, you will have the the ability to turn on the Document List page by checking the use LiveTiles View checkbox. Once this is checked, you will also have the ability to change some of the colours of the page in order to bring branding styles to your LiveTiles Document List Page.
Once this has all been set up, for you to open up Document List Pages, all you need to do is click on the heading of the Document List which will open up the Document List Page in whatever you set your target as (modal, new window, Slider, in place).
If you would like to access the list pages using a non-documents tile (ie. a rectangle tile or a morphing tile), you will be able to open up the list by manually putting in the URL which points to the document list page in the link section.
The URL to link to list pages is the following:
In addition, you will be able to add in special query parameters by appending them to the end of the above URL ie. &viewTitle=SomeSpecialView
The following table shows you how to fill out the above URL as well as the special query parameters that are accepted when using this method to point to the list:
Features of the Document List Page
The Document List page has two views, the list view and the card view. You will be able to swap between these two views by clicking on the icons in the top right corner of the screen. The active view icon will be shaded in teal.
From here, you will have the ability to not only view the document by clicking on the document, but also be able to access a menu of options from the favicon icon, which will open up three options: Delete, Share and Download.
Delete: This allows you to delete the item, which will take it to recycling bin, should you want to recover the item that has been deleted.
Share: This will open up the share dialogue box which will allow you to see who you have shared the file with, as well as invite other people to view the file and get a shareable link for the file.
Download: This will allow you to download a copy of the file to your computer.
You will also be able to search for a document by opening up the search icon in the top left corner and be able to type in the name of the document which will eliminate non matching documents, allowing for a quick search of the list.
You will also be able to upload new documents and add new folders. In order to do this, you can click on the plus icon on the top left corner of the page which reveals a section on the top of the screen as shown below:
The Upload section on a document list page
Here you have two options to upload a document to the document list page. The first option is to browse for a file, which will open up a picker that will allow the you to search your computer for a file then upload it. The second option is to drag a file to upload, which will then automatically start the upload process.
In addition, you will be able to add new folders by selecting the add folder button in the top right corner. This will slide out of a text box, which allows the you to name the folder. Once this has been filled, you can click create and a new folder is created.
In order to close the upload section, all you need to do is click on the plus icon again.
